Dried Flower Arrangements and Decorations

A lot of people like to have flowers in their homes, but buying fresh flowers two or three times a week can get very expensive. If you like the look of flowers, but fresh ones are not in your budget, you may be thinking of getting dried flowers to make some more permanent displays. Although the dried variety definitely has a different look, they can add beauty to your home nonetheless. These can last for years, or for as long as you like the look of them in your home.

You can make dried flowers on your own, but this is a bit tricky. I remember after my wedding someone told me to hang my bouquet upside down and to then spray it with hair spray. I wanted to save a few of the flowers to put in a frame with one of my wedding invitations, but the dried flowers just didn’t work out well and I had to forget it. I could have sent my stuff out to have a professional do it, but I decided that I wanted to try it myself. Don’t attempt to try it yourself if you are going to be extremely disappointed if it doesn’t work out.

You can find great dried flowers in craft stores like Michael’s or AC Moore. They have the flowers that you can buy to make your own arrangement, or you can find some that are already made. You may find something that matches your décor and you might just have to have it. You can also use dried flowers to make very cool wreaths for almost any time of the year, or for almost any other craft you can imagine. You can even use these for weddings if you like the look. They may work best for a fall or winter wedding. 

The one problem with dried flowers is that they seem to hold dust, and it is very hard to keep them looking clean. You really can’t dust them, but perhaps you can find something like compressed air to blow off the dust when you notice it has started to build up. If you don’t, you may just have to throw your dried flowers away after a while, but this might not be a huge problem if you want to have something new anyway. Because dried flowers are so cheap, you can come up with many different arrangements for your home, and it won’t hurt too much if you have to throw some away.
