Where To Find The Best Birthday Gift Basket

Whenever I can not make it to someone's birthday party, I always make sure to send a birthday gift basket. I do not do this is because it is an easy present to pick out. Sure, it is easy to order birthday gift baskets. They are all pretty much the same. All you have to know is if someone prefers wine, cheese, flowers, or chocolates. But the reason that I  love to send gift baskets is more personal. It goes back to when I was in my early 20s and living overseas.

It was a tough period of my life. On the one hand, I was on my own for the first time ever. That was very exciting. I was meeting new people, exploring new cultures, and generally having the adventure of a lifetime. But I was lonely as well. I was frequently sick, and constantly broke. Whenever my mom would send a gift basket, it always cheered me up. She would send a birthday gift basket every year, and a get well basket every time I got sick. The get well gift baskets were especially appreciated. There is nothing like being sick, broke, and far away in a country that you do not know well to get you depressed. I never felt more homesick than I did during those bouts of illness. Getting gift packages from my mother made a big difference. They really cheered me up.

I don't know if birthday gift baskets mean as much to other people as they do to me, but I suspect that they do. I know that my cousin seemed honestly overjoyed the last time I sent her a birthday gift basket. She called me on the phone right away to think me. She told me that the birthday gift basket was just perfect. It had her favorite wine, wonderful cheese, and chocolate that was better than any that she had ever tasted. I think she might have been exaggerating just a little bit, but the sentiment came through. She really did enjoy the birthday gift basket.

Of course, you can even get a birthday gift basket for kids. The great thing about birthday gift basket companies is that they have designed presents for all markets. I have grandkids now, and I cannot spoil them like I would like to because they live in another state. Instead, if I cannot make it to their birthdays, I send them a birthday gift basket filled with sweet gift cookies and candies. They are always grateful, although the parents are a bit irritated.
